Transform Your Classroom When You Move Beyond Conflict

img_0037Nancy has worked in the field of education for over 20 years. Various roles give her a diverse understanding of people and work situations: classroom teacher, private school administrator, daycare director. She has worked in public schools, Christian schools, privately owned day care, board run day care, rural settings (very rural) and city environments (Boston and Springfield, MA). She has lived in the south, northeast and New England. These amazing experiences gave her a broad view of life and brought her to the understanding that conflict is everywhere and most people need tools to better deal with it.

In 2002, Nancy reentered the classroom as a teacher and discovered that conflict among the children was interfering with her ability to teach. Finding The Young Peacemaker program gave her the inspiration to create a program that would work for younger children. Years later, the program has evolved and grown into Beyond Classroom Conflict.

Nancy added a Master’s Degree in Conflict Resolution to her teaching certification in 2009. An internship at the Concord Teen Court and Mediation Center gave a view of resolution within the court system. Training in mediation brought about another avenue to lead people toward resolution. A Place in the Conversation is an opportunity to bring all areas together and open the field to many different groups of people.
